News: Exposition de photographies de la galerie Esther Woerdehoff

À l’occasion de la Saint-Valentin, Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris s’associe à la galerie Esther Woerdehoff, pour célébrer l’amour.

From 10 February to 2 March 2024, 23 photographs by famous photographers will be on display in the heart of the Palace and at Le Bar Long.
The exhibition brings together the worlds of three photographers – Léon Herschtritt, René Groebli and Jason Langer – who compare their views on desire and love.

Léon Herschritt (1936-2020)
In Les Amoureux de Paris, Léon Herschritt (1936-2020) takes a tender, timeless look at romantic youth and French personalities from Serge Gainsbourg to Jean-Paul Sartre and Catherine Deneuve. These beautiful prints are a delightful reminder of Paris in the 60s.

René Groebli (1927-)
Zurich-born René Groebli published his second self-published portfolio in 1954, L’Œil de l’Amour, a collection of intimate images of his wife Rita taken in Paris on their honeymoon.
Groebli described the series as “an attempt to capture the essence of the characteristic hotel rooms of Paris. There were so many impressions: the cheap furniture in a cheap hotel, the word ‘Amors’ embroidered on the curtains. And I was in love with this woman, the woman I had married.

Jason Langer (1967-)
Jason Langer, best known for his dark psychological visions of contemporary urban life, plunges us into a sensual and mysterious Paris.
